Canadian Music Creators Coalition: A New Voice

> We are a growing coalition of Canadian music creators who share the common goal of having our voices heard about the laws and policies that affect our livelihoods. We are the people who actually create Canadian music. Without us, there would be no music for copyright laws to protect.

Barenaked Ladies, Avril Lavigne and Sarah McLachlan have teamed up with other canadian artists to form a new copyright coalition, which will fight for the artists views when it comes to copyrights instead of the labels views which has been the norm up until now. Fortunately, they’re against file-sharing lawsuits and the use of DRM and the DMCA to enforce the copyrights. They don’t view the labels as enemies, they just have a different point of view when it comes to what the public should be allowed to do with the music they purchased.
