Over the past few weeks, purely as a research project of course, we have downloaded from the internet 4.74 GB of MP3 music, which amounts to 968 tracks or 56 albums - from a collection of artists that ranges from Norah Jones through the Beatles, Janis Ian, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell to Miles Davis and Charles Mingus.
Russian site is music to the ears – TheEdge – smh.com.au
The store is allofmp3.com and is located in Russia. It costs $5 US for 500Mb of songs, which you can get in whatever music format you want, and using the bit-rates you want. This is supposedly approved by the Russian government, and is thus supposedly legal. Who knows. Russian sites have a somewhat fishy history and is usually associated with spam and creditcard fraud. I’d be a bit weary with leaving my card information with these guys, but feel free to let me know if you do and it works out just fine.
