Belgian consumer watchdog Test-Achats (Test Aankoop), known for its crusade
against Nokia's "unsafe batteries", starts the new year with a fresh assault on
the music industry. It is taking the music giants EMI, Sony, BMG Music and
Universal Music to court for installing anti-piracy systems on their audio CDs.

The Register

Way to go! I just wish more countries and consumer organs would do the same thing. Copy protection on CDs is a stupid idea in the first place as you can always get around it by plugging your stereo into your soundcard. It’s even worse when this protection makes it impossible to play the CDs on new multi-function entertainment systems and car stereos.
