We’re back after a couple of hours of downtime with new and improved hardware. Gurba is now quite the little decent server, if you ask me. It should be way more than we need at the moment, but you never know… I might get the urge to play Quake III on the server, and there goes that spare processing power.
- Dual Pentium III 650 Mhz
- 1 GB Memory
- Media
- 18 GB SCSI UltraWide 160 Disk
- 50 GB SCSI UltraWide 160 Tape Drive
- 76 GB IDE Disks
- Silent Powersupply
- Silent Full Tower Case (Black)
- Gentoo Linux 1.4
Finally I can fiddle with the server and recompile XFree or Gcc, if I want, without the ShoutCast stream starting to jitter and jump all over the place. Hopefully we’ll break the current uptime record of 16 days this time, but knowing me I’ll need to take down the machine again some time soon to install the spare 40 GB disk I have lying about. It should be relatively painless, but downtime annoys me none the less.
