After being annoyed at the amount of noise our server generates while standing in the livingroom, the solution is close. For my birthday on Saturday I got a new silent case for it, and the christmas presents from the missus and me to ourselves just arrived. A silent powersupply and a new silent CPU fan.
I’ve felt pretty bad having the server in our livingroom, but what can a poor geek do? We don’t have anywhere else to put it, and not having a server isn’t really an option when you have a 10Mbit/s link straight into the apartment.
Just have to wait for christmas eve now. I feel like a kid again.
